Grant manager - Maternity cover
The LEGO Foundation is looking for a Grant Manager as a maternity cover until January 2026 to support the end-to-end administration of the diverse portfolio of grants awarded each year and ensure compliance with the grant lifecycle process. You will be a part of the Grants & Legal Team which works across the LEGO Foundation’s programmatic functions to support adaptive, modern and above all compliant grant management. In this position you will report to the Team Lead of the Grants & Legal Team.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Grant related (90 %)
- Advise on grant design and process steps specifically to ensure compliant yet flexible grant making
- Ensure grant applications comply with the LEGO Foundation legal framework (i.e. Danish law on corporate foundations) as well as adhere to internal policies and guidelines (e.g. the LEGO Foundation Charter)
- Perform grantee vetting or due diligence checks
- Analyse grant implementation risks at the application stage
- Manage the grant application approval process including engagement of internal and external stakeholders
- Support the grant contracting and contract amendment processes ensuring alignment with internal legal counsel
- Review annual reports for active grants to confirm compliance with contractual obligations and manage the release of funds process
Administration related (10 %)
- Contribute to the continuous optimization of grant making processes and guidelines
- Support the preparation of grant-related documentation for the Board of Directors
- Engagement and alignment with other operational units including Strategic Portfolio Impact and Finance
- Contribute to specific development projects ad-hoc

Work Experience & Education:
- University degree at master’s level
- At least 3 years of experience in administering grants funded from public, private, or philanthropic sources
- Experience in facilitating the execution of the full grant lifecycle – from end-to-end
- Experience in assessing project-related risks and performing vetting/ due diligence
- Experience in negotiating and drafting contractual agreements with organisations from across the world
- Experience in monitoring grant progress and compliance with contractual obligations
- Experience in managing a large and diverse stakeholder landscape internally and externally in terms of cultural backgrounds and professional functions
It is an advantage if you have experience working with Danish partners and Danish Foundations.

The position is based in Billund, Denmark, at the headquarters of the LEGO Foundation (and the broader LEGO Eco-system) but we have a flexible working policy allowing for working from home during the week.
